Audio

Audio storytelling
I love to bring words to life through immersive audio, whether it’s poetry, spoken word, storytelling, or narration. My creative work spans performance, hosting and production, often with a focus on rich, atmospheric soundscapes. I love the way audio adds a new dimension to storytelling, offering listeners access to other places through voice, rhythm, and carefully woven layers of sound. Using field recordings from urban streets, nature’s chorus, or the hum of daily life – bells in Spain, café chatter in France, or the rush of a river – I create sonic worlds that enhance the power of the spoken word.
I’m always looking to collaborate on new projects, whether you need a voice, a producer, or creative input on your audio work. I work with a sound engineer to ensure a professional finish, from concept to completion.
If you’re looking to bring a story, poem, or script to life with immersive audio, get in touch, I’d love to hear what you’re working on.

The Last Swallow
The Last Swallow is a story about finding hope during the climate crisis, set in mid-Devon. Greta, who tracks the earth’s heartbeat like others track the weather, and her granddaughter Lotta, wait for the return of the swallows to free their world from a winter-without-end. Commissioned as part of Bridging Cities Exeter X Jakarta, a British Council-supported cultural exchange between UNESCO Cities of Literature, the story explores how climate change shapes the places we live. Featuring an illustration by Indonesian artist Hezky Kurniawan.

Tell Me Something
Tell Me Something was born from a desire to keep a connection with others in the poetry community during the lockdowns. I put out a call for poems and stitched them together with nature and urban sounds into a transporting soundscape. I’m still really proud of these wonderful collaborative pieces of audio art. This is episode two – an immersive journey of poetry and sounds.
Crediton Radio – One Year On
I loved creating this radio interview, from researching and crafting questions to recording, narrating, and layering in sound effects to add depth to the story with sound.
This episode features Crediton Radio founder Jake Lloyd, reflecting on a year of building a community radio station.
